How to visualize multiple columns of data in your Projection map

Flourish maps let you supply multiple columns of data and choose between different controls: buttons, dropdowns, and time sliders. A time slider is a great way to animate between different points in time on a map and show how something developed in a geographical context.

To add controls to your Projection map, you will have to have several columns with values for each row showing different points in time or categories. Your Regions sheet data should look something like this:
Add all of the relevant columns to the Value selection in the columns settings

In the Preview tab, within the Regions settings, go to the Controls settings and select which control you would like to use. If you're using a time slider, this is also where you can set the time between the steps and select if you'd like to loop the animation.

When visualizing datasets with different magnitudes of data across the different columns, you might want to set the legend to update based on the current column instead of based on all columns. You can do this in the Regions settings.

This determines whether or not to update the default color scale when switching between Value columns. Note that any non-default scale settings (such as custom bin thresholds) will always apply across all columns.
